Shir Chadash Congregation in Metairie, LA is looking for part-time shul school teachers to facilitate classes with students. The community is a warm and vibrant synagogue that values Jewish education for all ages.
There are positions for different age groups from kindergarten to sixth grade. Hourly wage is $25/hr. The hours are from 8:45-11:45 on Sunday mornings.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing a warm and engaging classroom for students that compliments the ISJL (Institute of Southern Jewish Learning) curriculum
• Lesson Planning with support from the Education Director
• Communication with school families and school staff via email, newsletters, etc.
• Using collaborative technology
• Knowledge of Jewish learning and text
Additionally, the synagogue is looking for leaders for Jr. Congregation for Shabbat Morning Services for 10:30-11:30 am and 1:1 Hebrew tutors for students in 2nd grade and above.
