The Shir Chadash Softball team was defeated in Sunday’s game 44-3 by Gates of Prayer.

Acting as coach, Ben Jacobson for his father who was out of town, produced a line-up that was capable of winning the championship.  There was a lead chance 3 times in the game, but unfortunately Gates of Prayer was the last to prevail.  Pitching in the game was Ben Horwitz whose knuckle ball kept Gates of Prayer off balance.

This is just the second year since Katrina the team has again been part of the league and both years the road to the championship has been determined by the new Shir Chadash team.  The Shir Chadash team has won the championship several times in the past.

A late new addition to the team is our youngest player, Geoffrey Samuels.  The RBI leader for the game was Stu Weg with 2 RBI’s.
